Assay metadata

Assay metadata helps you improve the FAIRness of the assays and therefore in the end the results.

But adding metadata to the assays is NOT mandatory. Hence, if not needed in your organisation or for your assays then you can skip this step and move on to adding assay models without metadata fields.

To add new metadata fields:

  1. Go to the Administration menu
  2. Select Assays tab
  3. Select Metadata
  4. Click the New button

In the appearing "New assay metadata" form:

  1. Add a relevant name - this will be the name of the field/column in the assays
  2. Select the matching field from the controlled vocabulary - ensures that the values will be controlled
  3. Add a description
  4. Click the Save button
